The Giant Recycled Acorn project aims to raise awareness of recycling through a creative artwork which raises money for the Acorn Children’s Hospices. This is a competition for community groups and schools, and teachers are encouraged to enter their students’ work – both primary and secondary.
Participants should create an Acorn picture in any size or medium. These can be painted, sculptured, patterned, coloured and made from recycled materials. All submitted Acorns will be used in the creation of a giant sponsored Collage, 3 metres x 3 metres which will be displayed at Rotary Clubs, council meetings and other venues. Certificates will be presented to all participating schools and students for outstanding work, and the school with the best overall submissions will receive a Rotary Club Trophy.
