Bgen is holding a networking event on 30th September in the Chelsea Physic Garden.
The day will focus on supporting schools in delivering the new curriculum. The programme has been shaped to give a variety of expert perspectives from leading professionals on what the new curriculum looks like one year on. Speakers include:
Paul Davies (Institute of Education) who will be giving his perspective as the Leader of the Institute’s PGCE Secondary Science Programme.
Brona Doyle (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) explains how RBGK has transformed its education programme in response to the new curriculum and gives valuable insights into what has worked well.
Clare Rees (Headteacher of a London Primary School) considers what the new curriculum means in the Primary setting and how outdoor educators can help schools respond to its challenges. Clare has a wealth of experience and expertise having worked in a variety of schools as well as being an advisor for a London Borough.
Michael Holland (Chelsea Physic Garden) and Jane Challenor (RBGK) take a hands-on approach to showing what has worked (and not worked!) for them in this first year.
There will also be discussion and networking time to share experiences with other outdoor educators from around the country.
