Over the next few days, our Webwatch section is focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals: those crucial international targets that were agreed a few months ago. Today’s focus is a series of maps produced by UNESCO. Read on …
UNESCO, the UN’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, has launched a collection of interactive maps presenting indicators to allow us to monitor achievement of the targets in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. This Goal asks us to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
This eAtlas will be automatically updated as data for each indicator become available.
The data will illustrate literacy and proficiency levels, enrolment and completion rates, and other indicators related to education quality and provision, such as budget allocations, gender equity and school safety. The UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) produced the maps.
