The Royal Society is working in partnership with the British Council and the Commonwealth Secretariat to run a programme of activities in schools across the Commonwealth on scientific topics, linked to the Commonwealth Science Conference hosted by Singapore in June 2017.
Each one is also linked to at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals. These resources are aimed at inspiring students aged 7-14 in science. For each scientific topic, there will an introductory video with an overview of the societal issue and the associated science.
The videos are filmed in a range of Commonwealth countries as we are keen that the resources seem relevant to young people around the world. There are currently two resources available, one on renewable energy and one on infectious diseases, with two more to follow in the Autumn on food security and rising sea levels.
All are hosted on the British Council Schools’ Online platform.
