We mentioned the John Muir Trust before Christmas. Here are a few more highlights of recent activities:
- A new Literacy & Nature Resource Guide highlights how nature and the outdoors can inspire and support literacy skills. It includes links to resources that have a natural theme or are specifically adapted for the outdoors, along with Award specific resources and examples.
- Curriculum documents for England and Scotland have been revised, showing how the John Muir Award links to the Curriculum and school priorities. Maps showing Award links across the curriculum are also available to download separately.
- New online information gives ideas and signposting for each of the John Muir Award Challenges. It’s for groups, families or individuals completing the John Muir Award, perhaps for the first time, looking for further information or inspiration for activities and resources.
- Grow Wild is awarding funding of £2,000 or £4,000 to groups and projects that connect people with UK native wildflowers, plants and/or fungi. Funding for 2018 is now open.
