Emily is a young nature enthusiast and writer living in Warwickshire. She enjoys photographing her local wildlife, wildflowers and fungi, sharing photos on Instagram, Twitter and Vero. She is particularly fascinated by corvids, having rehabilitated a fledgling jackdaw last year. This comes through in her writing, including To The Roost which won the Young Wild Writer Competition, Hen Harrier Fest in 2022 and the poem Jackdaw Gifts which was awarded First Place in Guernsey Lit Fest’s Young People’s International Competition in 2022. She is a multi-award winning young poet, currently holding the title of Warwickshire Young Poet Laureate. Emily is also a Youth Councillor for Reserva: The Youth Land Trust and has had several articles published in nature magazines.
Recently Emily has written an article for the OCR Natural History newsletter: Are young people really disassociated with nature? and was guest speaker at the recent Natural History advisory group meeting.
