Climate Action reports that the number of ultra-low emission plug-in vehicles (electric and hybrid) in the UK has more than tripled over the past year, with grants from the Government helping to promote the rise. 9,046 such vehicles were registered in the first quarter of 2015 – a rise of 366% from the same period in 2014. Least we get carried away, it also says that of the 30.7m cars and 3.6m vans licensed in the UK, plug-ins account for 0.09% – 1 in every 1,164. Some way to go.
