Here are details of two LEEF summer activities …

Joint LEEF/Bgen/BGCI Networking Day, Thursday 25 August, 10-3pm, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.

LEEF’s annual joint networking event with Botanic Gardens Education network and Botanic Gardens and Conservation International will be held at Kew this year.  Activities will include an opportunity to tour behind the scenes of the alpine nursery, related activities exploring how to link the adaptations exhibited by these fascinating plants to the harsh environment they inhabit and the classification elements of the science curriculum at KS2.  Lunch will be a communal shared picnic (in a dry space in Museum No 1 building if necessary!).  Afternoon sessions will be led by Jane Challoner and Katy Barton from the Kew education team and will focus on some of the activities that Kew run for schools and ways in which these could be adapted for use in different outdoors settings.

£20. Bookings should be made via the Bgen website

Nature Connection Day, Friday 23 September, 10am-2.30pm, Sydenham Hill Wood Local Nature Reserve.

Join us for a day of exploring, sharing, playing and connecting with our natural surroundings. We will ground ourselves with stories about the history and heritage of these woods and explore activities to deepen our awareness of our surroundings. £20 LEEF members, £25 non-members.

Please contact Beth for further details or to book you place.
