SEEd is inviting organisations and individuals with a focus on sustainability to host “innovative and inspiring” workshops at this conference on November 13th. It is also inviting organisations and individuals to host stalls in the Share Fair.   It says that around 200 educators, young people (7 – 21 years old), NGOs and businesses from across the country will join together in learning for sustainability.   The day will include invited speakers, workshops, a lunchtime Share Fair, and youth participation throughout.  Please contact Poppy on ssacoordinator@se-ed.org.uk for more info about stalls and workshops.  Deadline Thursday 12th October.  There is no charge if one person hosts a workshops and this includes free attendance and lunch.

SEED says that the workshops should show how children and young people can participate more fully in ESD and Sustainable Schools, and how this can make the world better place now and in the future. They should cover and demonstrate in action one (or more) of these aspects:

  • Pupil/student voice
  • Transitions (moving from primary to secondary or secondary to university/college/work)
  • Saving schools money through sustainability
  • Green jobs
  • Designing action learning projects for sustainability
  • Having a say in your sustainability curriculum
  • ‘How to’ skills e.g. working with the community, stakeholder facilitation skills, marketing, social media, behaviour change, collaborative working
  • Competencies for students e.g. responding to change, futures thinking, systems thinking
  • Measuring and monitoring learning for sustainability
