Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, will be the keynote speaker at a Montessori conference in London on March 12th 2016, and he may be staying on for a few more days for other presentations. We’ll keep you informed.
We think that there a quite a few children in the woods these days, but we do wonder what they are doing there, and, in particular, what they are learning. Our recent guest blog from Geoff Guy was about this, and has provoked much discussion about how environmental education and outdoor education relate to each other – if they do.
We know that this debate has been going on for a long time amongst environmental educators, and hope that those promoting outdoor learning will now turn their minds more towards it.
