As part of an EU-funded project, Young People on the Global Stage, TIDE is leading a study visit to Kenya in February 2016.

Working alongside teachers from Spain and Kenya, the study visit takes the form of a course which will offer a fresh view on international development, including big questions about poverty and wealth, food and hunger, and sustainable development.

There will be an opportunity to see projects and initiatives in the Nairobi area, and to work collaboratively as part of an international teacher group group.  You will learn from other people’s perspectives, each one of which will illuminate our understanding in new ways: inviting us to think critically about what we understand and how we learn, individually and interculturally.

On returning to Europe you will be able to apply these fresh understandings of ourselves, the world and intercultural understanding to our teaching.

Key dates:

  • Closing date for applications – 2nd November 2015
  • Preparatory weekend in Spain – 15th to 17th January 2016
  • Study visit to Kenya – week of 13th February 2016
  • Follow up weekend in Spain – dates to be confirmed
