Swap Shop
Inspiration, socialising and beer can be found at the next LEEF swap shop on Thursday 29 October, 6-9pm, Cittie of York, 22 High Holborn, WC1V 6BN
On the table there will be inspiring and interesting books, DVD’s and articles, so come along to the swap shop with your own inspirational object and swap it for one contributed by a LEEF colleague. RSVP to bbarber@wildlondon.org.uk
Training event
Using microscopes with children and young people is on Wednesday 25 November, 10am-4pm at the South London Botanical Institute: £25 LEEF members; £35 non-members
This event is designed to boost confidence and competence with microscopes. Topics will include advice on purchasing equipment for use with young people (what magnification, binocular v. monocular, cost, robustness etc), the creation of high quality slides, how to interpret images for your audience and case studies from projects working with young people. Speakers include Dr Claire Wells, Senior Lecturer in the Dept of Cancer Cell Biology and Imaging at Kings College London and Royal Microscopical Society committee member; Dr David Perkins, Head of Education at Roots and Shoots; and Dr June Chatfield, Vice-President of the British Naturalists Association.
