photoHere’s a 3-minute YouTube video from Arjen Wals explaining his views on how schools need to change in order better to prepare young people for their [sustainable] futures.

But to what extent can young people “change things” in the way described?  Or, to what degree can schools prepare young people to change things once they have left school?  What is it realistic to expect schools to do, and where would they be best advise to place their efforts?

If you have more time, you could read Wals’ open-access publication based on an inaugural professorial address he gave in December: “Beyond Unreasonable Doubt: Education and learning for socio-ecological sustainability  in the anthropocene“.  It can be downloaded here.
