Here’s Karen Hollweg commenting on a new climate change documentary, Before the Flood, presented by National Geographic, that features Leonardo DiCaprio who’s had wide-ranging access to leaders around the world. Through his travels, DiCaprio searches for hope in a rising tide of catastrophic news. Hollweg says:

“I highly recommend this documentary for anyone high school age and older – and would love to have it as required viewing for all public officials and office holders as well as voters. Leonard DiCaprio takes viewers to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change, to discussions with scientists and politicians (from congressmen to Pres. Obama to the Pope and Ban Ki Moon), and to his recent speech to the UN delegates who signed the Paris accord.

It is a powerful film (almost 2 hours long) and appropriate as an introduction to the subject, a culminating experience for a unit, or a tool for generating discussions regarding what I/we should do NOW.”
